Altea Packaging, a flexible packaging manufacturer with operations across 15+ countries in Africa and the Middle East, is investing in new production equipment to accelerate growth and boost responsiveness to customer demand. The Tunisian-based company plans to install a new rotogravure printing press and slitting machine, both expected to become operational in early 2027. The additions will enhance the company's ability to produce flexible packaging that meets evolving performance and technical requirements.

Expansion Strategy The equipment investments support Altea Packaging's stated objectives to respond more effectively to market needs, increase production flexibility, enable new product development, and strengthen its footprint in Europe. The company currently operates as a key player in the MENA region and is gradually building its presence in European markets. "Strengthening our industrial capabilities will enable us to support our customers' development more effectively, with the same objective: to deliver flexible packaging combining performance, quality and technical expertise," the company said in a statement.

Why It Matters

For foodservice and consumer goods operators in Africa and Europe, the investment signals Altea's commitment to shorter lead times and customized packaging solutions. Expanded rotogravure capacity typically enables faster turnaround on short runs and complex graphics, competitive advantages in markets where product differentiation and speed-to-shelf matter.
